I can't believe it's November already and it has been almost three months since my last post. It has also been a long time since the actual Promise Climb took place, and I'm yet to write about it. In all honesty, I seem to be much better at writing retrospectively than in the heat of the moment. Once everything settles and I'm able to compartmentalise, that's when I'm better at drawing all the lessons.
The main reason for the lack of writing is that I've been away. After the actual climb, the kids and I remained in Serbia for another month and a half. I really wanted them to learn the language properly and get to know all of our relatives who live over there. I also believed that it would be beneficial for my own healing to reconnect with some of my closest friends who live so far away, and I was definitely right about that. In my experience, laughter and meaningful connections can be healing on so many levels.
